A Little About Myself
I was born and raised most of my life in the rural parts of Indiana in the United States and spent a few years in Southern Texas also. In 2011, I began in the Entertainment business as a co-host on a popular Podcast doing commentary on Sports and some comedy with my now best friend, Mo from the MoRadioShow on Sports! Together we grew the show to millions of listeners and was broadcasting Daily on over 50 radio stations throughout the U.S. and on blogtalk radio...
I had a Nascar and Unusual Sports News segments and could often be found debating different sports subjects with the Host of the show! It made for some great entertainment and put a comedic look on real daily sports news.
I soon moved on and began getting interested into music, I had met a few musicians that I became friends with and started learning about the music industry on social media and worked with them on building fans, advertising and doing graphic design work.
Over time I met several artists and was beginning to build my own fan base. So I asked myself how can I combine my advertising knowledge, social media and graphic design, with my love for music and benefit the artists that I had made friends with.
In May of 2016 SocialStarsWW was created and I have combined my talents, knowledge, love of music and writing to help independent artists. I started with video sharing and music news and have since moved on to conducting interviews, helping advertise for new music releases and giving music reviews to different artists.
SocialStars was started as an idea that came to me after talking with a lot of different artists! It has begun to grow into a well known social media account that shares independent musicians YouTube videos, posts and shares news about different artists, conducts interviews and post reviews on new and current uploads of it's members.
The name came from Social Media and the artists are all Stars. So it was shortened to come up with SocialStars!
Social Media is the new store front for entertainment these days, so it is a very big part of distribution for most artists these days. Most of the artists will tell you how important it is to build a loyal fan base on social sites like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram along with music sharing sites like YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, iTunes and Amazon.
In just over a year we have hit 2.5k followers on Twitter and still growing every month since we began. We have almost 300 artists now that we are subscribed to on YouTube and over 1900 shared videos over the last year!
We have many featured artists that are recognized YouTubers in many different genres of music.
My first two interviews with Facing West Music and Karianne Jean who have been my longest followers and mentors to the music business, got my Social Media presence underway and got me noticed by KorePR to start doing interviews for them and their clients. I had the opportunity to interview popular Nashville recording artists like Alayna Carroll, Kayla Calabrese and Shari Rowe. I continued booking interviews on my own with Disney Radio artist Chloe Caroline and Alyssa Baker from the popular NetFlix original Lost and Found Studios. Eventually I was contacted by MTS Management and Records Group to interview JJ McGuigan finalist in Save the Music, award winning recording artist Richard Lynch and most recently with Madelyn Victoria. More on these interviews can be found in my photo galleries.
